Learning and roleplaying in the Metaverse

Get ready to embark on an exhilarating journey through the digital cosmos—welcome to the Metaverse, where education and entertainment collide in a symphony of immersive experiences!

In this extraordinary future, classrooms transcend the confines of traditional walls, transporting students to dynamic 3D/4D-generated maps where history comes to life and biology takes on a whole new dimension. Picture yourself delving into the depths of a cell or reliving the Philippine revolution—all from the comfort of your virtual classroom.

Futhermore, these next-level classrooms are global; your fellow students and teachers can come from all over the world! But that's not all—introverted students can still thrive in this interactive landscape, engaging in private conversations with educational NPC-like characters and unlocking the secrets of the universe at their own pace.

And when the learning is done, adventure awaits in a virtual world teeming with limitless possibilities—fulfill your wildest dreams, become a hero, or conquer the courts in an epic game of virtual sports. The Metaverse is calling—are you ready to answer the call?

In the dimly lit classroom, the teacher stands at the front, clad in a headset, as his students eagerly gather around him. With a wave of his hand, the virtual reality simulation of the Philippine Revolution comes to life around them, transporting the students back in time to the tumultuous days of the struggle for independence. They witness the bravery of heroes like the Katipunan, feeling the heat of battle and the weight of history pressing down on them. As they navigate the immersive experience, the students gain a deeper understanding of their country's past and the sacrifices made by those who fought for freedom, inspiring them to carry the torch of patriotism into the future.

In the cramped confines of his small apartment, Miguel dons his VR headset, escaping the limitations of his stature as he steps into the virtual court of his dreams. Towering over opponents with every leap, he dribbles effortlessly, sinking three-pointers with precision and grace. In this digital realm, Miguel's height is no longer a barrier; he soars through the air with the agility of a true basketball star, his movements fluid and unstoppable. As the crowd roars in admiration, Miguel feels a surge of pride and accomplishment, knowing that in this alternate reality, he is every bit the champion he aspires to be.

...I want to learn, for example, from technologies abroad, maybe from Japan: what VR stuff [is happening there]? Mark Zuckerberg, a.k.a. Facebook, has these VR goggles. You can freaking see a hologram if you wear it; it's like there really is a 3D model in front of you. I would imagine it like that. So you can imagine a Roblox server, but it's real time because you can interact with people. [Or] [c]an you just imagine like Minecraft, [but with] 3d hologram[s] of everyone...Instead of going to school [onsite], you virtually go to school [in such] 3D/4D generated maps. And then you [can] meet professors from abroad, or Japanese language speakers, and then you can just talk with them. And then after that, of course, you can do a post meet-up connect, [where] you meet them physically instead of virtually. The virtual phase is just to help with initiating the conversation. You know how in Zoom class, if you chat, you're like the big elephant in the room? And it's so hard and awkward to speak up as someone introverted. So I can imagine the VR technologies now. Imagine if you went close to this character to this character in Minecraft, and you can just have a conversation alone with them without disturbing anyone else. In Zoom, that's possible, but you have to chat directly at that person. And one time, I made a mistake where I accidentally chatted to everyone. It's so annoying, [that] I have to toggle from everyone to a specific person. So imagine if we [could] simulate the interactions like in VR and AR technology.

...Oh God, Ready Player One? Sorry, I know that's like a dystopian thing, but [having an OASIS] would be so cool...I'm not gonna live there. I'm not going to spend my whole life there...But you know, it would be cool [if] we can fulfill some dreams in some way. Like, for example, right now...I'm [obviously] a kid at heart. So whenever I watch a Marvel movie, or I just recently played Spiderman 2, I'm like: "Oh, I'm gonna be a hero". So being able to feel and live that through it like...I don't know, [in] something like [the OASIS] in Ready Player One. I don't wanna feel it the stabbing...but you know, it would be cool to just find a way to experience games. Even sports, right? Not all of us are gifted, but we love some sports. [For example:] I love basketball, but I cannot play it for the hell of my life. Um But...I [like to] play NBA 2K a lot because NBA 2K has this MyCAREER [game mode] where you [can] build your own player, [and] you go through your own career. But imagine if that was you like living [that career], that would be fun.

...I guess, incorporating all the new innovations in school. Like for example, you know what I mentioned about holograms, right? Like [those] could teach people the parts of a cell better, or...it could showcase history right in front of their eyes. Oh, that would be so cool. Imagine living [in] like...the Philippine revolution, but in the classroom.
