In this future, education takes on a whole new dimension, with a hybrid model combining the best of homeschooling and traditional schooling. From the comfort of home, students can dive into a wealth of educational materials, exploring online platforms like YouTube for a universe of learning opportunities beyond the classroom. And as remote work rises in prominence, parents can find newfound flexibility to prioritize their families while pursuing their careers.
But the magic doesn't end there—livestreaming emerges as a powerful tool for connection and expression, with everyday people sharing their stories and experiences in real-time, shaping a culture where being perpetually online is the new norm.
Get ready to embrace the possibilities of hybrid living in the Philippines—where home is not just where the heart is, but where the future unfolds.
In the heart of their cozy home, the extended Garcia family embarked on a journey of learning like never before. With the flexibility of remote work, both parents, Mariela and Isaiah, dedicated their mornings to enriching their children's education with hands-on science classes. Together, they conducted exciting experiments, from erupting volcanoes to exploring the wonders of the solar system. As laughter filled the air and curiosity ignited their minds, the Garcia family discovered that the greatest classroom of all was within the warmth of their own home, where bonds were strengthened and knowledge flourished.
Benjie is an oil painter who makes part of his living from Twitch streaming. He recently held a 24-hour stream of his newest work-in-progress to commomerate reaching 500K subscribers.
Kenneth, a rider for a motorycycle-hailing app, often livestreams and vlogs while working with the help of his smart glasses.
I feel like...much more people will be livestreaming, for sure. There might even be 24-hour streams. You know, in terms of the Philippines, I feel like...do you know the game Valhalla? Did you know that there are players who stream their characters for 24 hours? I feel like there's gonna be someone that's gonna start [doing streams like that] in the decade before 2040. Then, when 2040 comes, it'll become normal; people['s] [streams will be] like: "Live with me!".
...I guess just every school would now be online?...[S]o for one, schools are online and secure, their data is secure. And teachers know how to use technology well, and students also just utilize it well.
...[R]ight now people are doing [livestreams]...it's a thing, and you don't have to be a influencer or content creator; people just do it randomly, and that's the way things go. But for me, I find this enthusiasm for livestreaming amusing. I know that existed already, in like 2010s. At least for me, it was already something that I was exploring; [back then], I was livestreaming [the process behind] making my art. But then, it was harder before, and then now it's so easy.
[Technology] can give a lot of access to, for example, independent artists who put their work out there...[and don't have to be] concerned with the mainstream media. I'm more optimistic in the sense that it's easier for someone to make music or to show their talents because right now, it's happening. For example, you're an indie artist: [if] you want your audio to gain traction, [then] you can just upload it in TikTok...[get] some viewers, [so that] they can discover you, especially if you're connected with Spotify and other networks. So in 2040, I think it's gonna be better for for artists out there, along with the entertainment industry as a whole. So I can see maybe the next evolution of Netflix or how we produce this type of entertainment, baka meron lang ng better links, given that we are in the age of using AR now. At least the AR technology is getting better; at least maybe that's a potential one.
Overall, I think ang future ng education would be hybrid. Homeschool at tsaka traditional schooling. Bakit? Mga tao marami nang work from home. Yung mga tao na yan by that time ideally may mga nasa probinsya na yung iba. So...yung mga parents, they're able to concentrate their time and resources to child-rearing. So may makikita mo yung mga bahay na yan may mga microscope, mga telescope, may mga bukid na maliliit. Sa bahay pa lang mastistimulate na yung bata. Yung mga magulang since may trabaho din sila, they will still send their children to school kasi after all di naman, we cannot teach everything. Pero tayong mga magulang...we would still be actively involved sa buhay ng mga bata. Tingin ko future ng education is that yung mga top na students would have come from families na may work from home single or couple na parents...Yung mga nasa laylayan na sa education, yan yung mga magulang na kailangan pinag-oonsite lagi kasi napapabayaan, yung asa sa tradition schooling. Kasi ang bata twenty four seven kailangan mo tutunan yan eh...Tingin ko yung future ng education would be hybrid. And yung future ng mga, yung lahat ng mga school, papalarin na magkaroon ng hybrid style ng education yun yung mga aasenso academically and professionally.
